In Ukraine, there is an ancient, glorious, and fascinating history of winemaking that dates back nearly 2,000 years. The SHABO Wine Culture Center is a wonderful place to experience this firsthand. Two-hundred-year-old Swiss cellars, modern art installations, museums, cinemas, a musical fountain, professional tastings, and large-scale production – the SHABO Wine Culture Center has plenty to impress you!

Since 2009, this place has provided everyone with the opportunity to see where noble beverages are created and to feel like a part of Ukrainian winemaking. Here, the pride and social responsibility of SHABO are embodied. We believe that creating wine is an art, and winemaking is a culture in which proper consumption plays a crucial role.

UNIQUENESS 

In 2011, under the initiative of the Council of Europe, the SHABO Wine Culture Center was recognized as a "Cultural Heritage of Europe" and included in the "European Wine Museum Map"

INNOVATION

• SHABO is the first and only winery in Ukraine to produce wines with a Controlled Designation of Origin (PDO) – the highest category of wines
• Unique equipment – Taransaud oak fermentation tanks equipped with heat exchangers for precise fermentation temperature control. These tanks are the Rolls-Royce of cooperage craftsmanship
• SHABO wine cellars – among the largest in Ukraine, covering 10,000 m², with three levels underground: 0, -5, and -9 meters

CREATIVITY 

• SHABO features Ukraine’s first monument to the grapevine, created by sculptor Mykhailo Reva
• A 200-year-old wine cellar houses the art installation "The Vine Trilogy“
• A multimedia Dionysus fountain illustrates the wine fermentation process

HISTORY

• The Royal Cellar holds the autograph of King Carl II of Romania
• Ukraine’s first President, Leonid Kravchuk, established his "Family Wine Collection" at SHABO
• Several operational 200-year-old cellars are still in use today
